Next Event: Saturday 8th February 2014

We’ll be back in the New Year with another evening of arts, crafts and cabaret. We’re very excited to confirm that the headline act will be the fabulous Lashings of Ginger Beer Time! Lashings are a queer feminist burlesque collective, who explore the politics of gender and sexuality through songs, sketches and stand-up. You can check out some of their videos here.

We’ll also have Ann Domoney¬† performing her blend of bittersweet songs and wry feminist comedy, and Hear the Word‘s Patti Dale reading her amazing poetry.

In the arts room, we’ll have our usual stitching circle with Sasha, and the newly-named Quiltbook. You’re invited to decorate a page of the Quiltbook any way you like – words, drawings, photographs, collage…any artform that can lie flat inside the book is welcome! In honour of LGBT history month, we’ll be making peg doll and puppet representations of our favourite queer icons.

This month’s raffle is in support of PACE, a charity¬†promoting the mental health and emotional well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

As usual we’re in the East Oxford Community Centre from 7:45 – 11:30. Information about the venue and accessibility is here.

You can sign up to the Facebook event here, and buy tickets in advance here.
