We always need people to help with tasks on the night, such as selling tickets on the door, setting out the furniture at the start of an event and clearing it away afterwards. Volunteers work for either the earlier or later half of the evening, and can enjoy the other half of the evening for free. If you’d like to volunteer, please sign up to the volunteer mailing list.
If you would like to perform at a future event, please contact Ann at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that we don’t offer open mic slots to people who show up on the night – all performers will be booked in advance. We will contribute towards performers’ travel costs where needed and pay a percentage of the door takings.
We welcome all kinds of performers, including comedians, musicians, poets, cabaret artists, storytellers and other kinds of performance art we haven’t thought of. We want to platform queer and trans folks, people of colour, women, disabled people, refugees, survivors and especially people who fit within or between two or more of these groups.
There are a couple of important conditions though:
1) Performances need to be in keeping with our safer space policy.
2) Due to restrictions at the venue, all performances should be acoustic, or equivalent volume. Do get in touch if you’re unsure.
At each event we have a guest art activity. If you’d like to facilitate an art activity, please get in touch with Nim at email@example.com. We will cover any materials costs and pay a percentage of the door takings.
