Quiltbag Cabaret was a regular arts and performance event in Oxford which ran from 2013-2015. It was followed by Quiltbag Crafternoon from 2015-2017. Each event offered a space for queer, feminist and womanist people and our allies to socialise and make art together, open to people of all genders and sexualities.
These events no longer take place, but if you are looking for queer arts and social events in Oxford, we recommend T(ART) Productions and Molly.

Thank you for your company and laughter at Crafternoons over the past couple of years! We’re really sorry but as Nim is changing jobs and e will no longer be free to host regular Crafternoons, we are cancelling the dates for the remainder of the year. Really sorry, but we will not be holding a Crafternoon on July 16th due to a double booking at the Garden. We are hoping to have our next Crafternoon on August 13th – we’re just waiting for the garden to confirm. Hope you are enjoying the sun/managing not to melt, and we’ll see you soon!

We had previously advertised a Crafternoon date of Sunday 10th July, but we have since realised this is the date of the Cowley Road Carnival which we really want to support. Unfortunately there are no alternative dates in July. So the next Crafternoon will instead be 14th of August (a week before the previously advertised 21st). In the meantime, we hope to see some of you at the Carnival, and either way, enjoy July!
Don’t forget the next Crafternoon is on Sunday April 3rd, 2pm-5pm at the Barracks Lane Community Garden. Come and hang out in a beautiful garden and make art with us! You’re welcome to use the materials provided, or bring your own.
Hello lovely people! Do you want a sober queer feminist happy Sunday afternoon? Come along to Barracks Lane Community Garden this Sunday from 2pm- 5pm for Quiltbag Crafternoon!
Early Quiltbag Crafternoons have been a great success, so we have booked the Barracks Lane Community Garden for monthly crafternoons for the rest of the year. It’s a beautiful chilled space, but don’t worry about it being too chilled – there is an indoor room with a log fire! It’s a low pressure event where you can drop in, hang out and drink tea, and play with whatever crafty things take your fancy. This is a DIY space – zines, projects and idea sharing super welcome! Entry is by donation, to support the garden.

Join us for a relaxed Sunday afternoon of crafting at the Barracks Lane Community Garden. On 10th of January, 2pm- 5pm, we’ll be holding a new year crafternoon. A no pressure art and social space, with a log fire!
We will bring tea and cake, yarn, drawing materials, colouring books and any other crafty things that take our fancy. Feel free to bring along your own snacks, art projects or games, or just yourself!
Entry is by donation – pay what you like to support the garden.

We are super excited to announce that our next event, featuring Phousa, Fay Roberts and Katherine Catchpole, will be happening on 28th November. You’ll have a chance to marvel at our beautiful quilt, and maybe even win it as star prize in our raffle in aid of Gendered Intelligence!
We have had a great time organising Quiltbag Cabaret over the past two years and meeting all you lovely people! It’s been lots of fun, but also lots of work, and we feel we need to take a break for a while and take stock. So the November event will be the last Quiltbag Cabaret for the foreseeable future, but we will continue to hold Quiltbag Crafternoon on the second* Sunday of every month. We hope you’ll come along to Barracks Lane to join us for crafts and tea!
